Motukaraka Point Road , Pāuatahanui 5381

The is a a great buggy friendly walk. A lot of the track is a well maintained boardwalk which runs alongside Grays Road. We parked at the Motukaraka Point Road end and walked to Pautathanui Village where we stopped at the Groupup Cafe for coffees, chips and hot chocolates. It's a great little cafe + kid friendly. This took us around 45-50 minutes.

There are a few additional walks you can do around the Wildlife Reserve, we didn't end up completing these as it was a hot day and there wasn't a lot of shelter from the sun (we also had 5 kids). By the time we got back to Motukaraka Point everyone was hot so we nominated an adult to make a dash back at the Village for lemonade ice blocks, the kids then stripped down to their birthday suits and had a swim in the inlet.

Age of our Kids: Miss 5, Master 7

Buggy Friendly: Yes - an excellent walk with a buggy (but we'd recommend having a sunshade on a sunny day as there isn't much cover at all)

Walking Time: 1.5 hours return

Length: 3.5km

Difficulty: Easy

Amenities: There are toilets at the start of track and at the Village

Elevation: NA

Dogs: Yes (but must be on a lead) Things to be aware of: For us it was really just underestimating how hot it is without the tree coverage, probably because we usually do bush walks. You definitely needs lots of sunscreen and hats on a sunny day.
